SCOTIA, Calif. (KIEM) – Drivers on Highway 101 this afternoon see smoke, as a VW bus catches fire.
One lane was closed as fire crews responded to the smoky scene just past noon on Tuesday, near the Scotia onramp.
We’re told one of the people inside the bus tried to put out the flames with an extinguisher, but the fire became too large.
Firefighters got the flames out by about 12:40PM, but were still cleaning up the scene.
The exact cause of the fire is still unknown.
